Floyd has nowhere to run for sure now! Brilliant move by Pac. Floyd almost certainly would be running to 140 soon rather than deal with 147 and his laughable "title" at 154

The only people that you can convince are other Floyd fans like you .....

Again, don't even go by what I'm saying, there are video clips and articles in which can prove to you that Marquez and Floyd are currently "gun shy" to face Manny NOT the other way around!

Word has it that Floyd is waiting for a relatively "easier" version of Manny down the line while Marquez wants to keep that "feeling" ..... but at least Marquez fought Manny 4 times ....... Floyd has 100 roadblocks and 0 fights with Manny!

I see a lot of comments that allude to the fact this move to 140 is based on the quality of fighters at 140. That had nothing to do with this move at all. Roach does not want Manny fighting welterweights that come into fights at 160-165 like Maidana, Abregu, Khan, etc. Read this statement, and read between the lines:

Pacquiao fought Bradley twice at 147 and both fights lasted the distance.

The last time Pacquiao was in a fight that ended in a stoppage was in 2012 when Juan Manuel Marquez knocked him out in the sixth round.

Roach said even Bradley is way bigger than Pacquiao because in last week’s rematch the American climbed the ring at 160 after weighing in at 145.5 the day before.

Pacquiao weighed in at 145 and showed up for the fight no heavier than 150 pounds.

“He’s fighting these bigger, stronger guys. Bradley was at least 160 going into that ring,” Roach told Maxboxing.

It must be the reason why Pacquiao has failed to score a knockout since 2009.

And it’s also the reason why Roach said he might ask Pacquiao if he’s willing to slide down to 140 or even 135.

“He’s not a great puncher at 147 like everyone thinks. Everyone says he’s not getting the knockouts like with Hatton and those knockouts were at 135 (David Diaz) and 140.

“I’m going to ask him if we can fight at 140 because that’s a better weight for him. He has no trouble making 140,” added Roach.

Pacquiao said he can make 140 or even 135 if he wants to.

But Roach doubts if Top Rank chief Bob Arum would let Pacquiao move back down in weight because the biggest fights are at 147, not at 140 or 135.

After the November fight, Manny has a few fights left in him. So all he is saying is that he is going to look at his options. If it makes more sense to fight someone from 140 then why not.

If Floyd becomes "interested" then Manny will fight at 147 ..... it's that simple.

You don't need to convince us that Manny is fighting at 147 even though that is not his best weight. To go up to 147 and even 150 was an achievement but his best weight is actually below that ......

Only reason to move down to 135-140 is to make a big fight with a really small guy like Rigo... Danny Garcia should move up..and so should the rest of the guys at 140...

I hate guys going down in weight when the fighters are one division apart. Catch weights closer to the lower-fighters weight should only happen when there is a huge weight gap like Pac-De La Hoya...

Dawson v. A. Ward was a joke because of the 168 limit..

I don't care how easy Pac says he can make 40'

Does it make more sense to fight Algeri than Khan or Thurman? I think the choice of Algeri speaks for itself.

Pac wipes the floor with anybody at 140, I'm talking KO too, 147 is not his natural weight but it's where he has all his competition at.
