jacobs is as good if not better than korobov, plus he has a bigger name and brings more money to the table. its a move that makes sense in every aspect.

if he goes on to fight some nobody vacating the title is really messed up, but if he fights jacobs i dont see what the problem is. jacobs beat better fighters than korobov has.

Wtf Peter? I can't see any damn sensible explanation for this at all. Not only does he lose the biggest payday he's ever likely to get he also loses the title which gives him most of his value anyway. And it ain't even like Korobov is some unbeatable beast.. likely woulda been a fairly even fight.

Yeah.. he can fight Jacobs for the WBA 'regular' - which means, should he get past Jacobs (which is about as tough a fight as Korobov IMO) he gets a free ticket to fight Golovkin for about half the $s he would have got for a much easier fight in Korobov.

Quillin is receiving bad advice IMO.

I don't want see another post, here or anywhere else, talking about how clever Al Haymon is. His advice cost Stevenson the two most lucrative fights of his career and turned him into an object of scorn and derision. Now this with Quillin.
Yeah, I get it, Haymon realised neither guy was good enough to beat the best in his division, so he decided safety first was the best option. But surely it would have been better to let them go out with a **** and a big pay cheque, rather than a pathetic whimper like this?
