If I can't get a comfortable opponent at the weight then I'd just wait for Canelo at 155 and pick up a monster pay day...no sense in fighting a stay-busy fight against a Clottey-Trout type who Cotto will dominate and get no credit for...
Yeah because Cotto totally dominated Clottey and Trout the first time.

Cotto just needs to forget about 160 and focus on 154.

I didn't think about Molina not being able to fight in the US. Bradley is the only guy I can see him fighting other than Molina. Rios is a waste of time and he will not go to 150 to fight Marquez. GG is never going to happen. Cotto doesn't really want to fight Middleweights, nor should he have to.

Positioning So To Never Fight Gennady

First they talked of how GGG isn't a good money fight. Now it's "we'll fight at a weight Cotto is comfortable at". Which means they'll claim they aren't going anywhere near 160, they know Gennady will not drain himself to go down where he is naturally 160, and Cotto can hang with his Middleweight belt at 154.

That's fine. Cotton can't beat Canelo, and after that fight happens, Canelo will man up to Gennady for an epic war.

"Nor should he have to"???? Of course he should. He chose to fight a washed up 40 year old Sergio to claim the belt. Either drop it in the trash can or defend against Middleweights. That's just lame to think he doesn't have to fight Middleweights. Marquez is not an option either... He can't juice up enough to fight close to 154 and Cotto is not coming down. Rios doesn't deserve a shot; he's never beaten anyone credible. No way Cotto will ever fight Gennady, the best Middleweight in the world. But Tim Bradley is interested in fight Cotto, so don't be surprised if that doesn't happen in the Spring.

Dominate Trout?? How so. He didn't before. Clottey would out last him. He's done as a dominant player at any weight.

It's called drop the belt drop down and fight for SW, JMW. ANd still gets crushed by Canelo.

I was being sarcastic. Cotto isn't beating anybody legit these days. Its clear hes just gonna cash out with Canelo, the guy wouldn't even risk fighting andy lee at 154.
