Your absolutely correct. But then again you are being constructive and not destructive. I would also add that the relationship between working class/poor communities and chinese restaurants is not as simple as one of explotation.

Being that you are from the Bay Area lets use Bayview as an example...Hunts Point Bayview, Devil Rock, and other places, as in Oakland where there are virtually no grocery stores, and most food outlets are liquor stores and...the occasional chinese joint. But heres the thing: Chinese food is affordable, it does have vegetables in it if people make an effort to order a vegetable dish now and then....I believe that in many ways chinese food helps sustain some of the African American communities. no its not perfect but compared to what you can find in your local liquor store, your fast food joints, its relatively nutritious.

Devon's critiscism is ignorant in addition to rascist, and by the way chinese food has sustained people for many many generations...there are techniques for braising, special dishes like Pecan Duck....one of my favote things to eat...and lots of stuff that is simple and cheap and allows a poor family in this country, to get more protein in one meal than a North Korean family probablly sees in a month.

Chinese food occasionally is a treat. If grocery stores would open up and serve the minority communities, then these families would not have to use restaurants for daily meals....I think that is more the issue here.

I don't see anyone asking for Alexander to reword what he said. He should have taken that negative energy in the first place and focused it towards productivity but instead he had an immature outburst. If Devon had a problem with them being successful, why not try to emulate their success and fill the void in his neighborhood. What Devon should have done is stfu, then get some counseling for his distorted views, then decide to help his community in some way develop their own culinary presence to allow more dining options. That's the mature, well-balanced way to look at a situation. He needs to turn to himself and see what is wrong there because the backlash will indicate to him that something is wrong with offending others.

Chinese food? It's rice and orange chicken. Big whoop.

I don't like how food is classified, just give me a burger or a pastry.

You and Anuki are truly two of the most ignorant individuals on this site....and thats saying somehting because there are a lot of stpd m0thafvkers here! Cut! Wtf? gentrification? I guarantee you that no chinese restaurant in the ****** is taking any choice real estate from anyone. A neighborhood should be happy to have one of these places as a choice....thats not explotation,

For your info you don't have a succesful business because of privalege, you have a succesful business from hard work, and in the case of these restaurants, putting up with sh11zzle most people would never put up with. The idea that starting a business is a privalege is truly a slave mentality, nobody owes anyone anything when they take the heat to make their shizzle work.

Man for your own sake I hope you understand how unsuccesful and ignorant it is to assume somebody owes you something when they fufill a purpose in your community like providing food that is affordable. Nobody forces people to eat chinese food either and these places damn sure are not taking prime real estate away from ****** bakeries and other possible busnesses started up by the community. Gentrification is very different that people who set up a business in a place where they are treated like sh1zzle learn the difference!

In the Bay Area we have Panda Express which freezes nothing and everything is made fresh daily. I get more vegetables when I eat there than I can get anywhere. If I get Mushroom Chicken, Chow Mein, and Broccoli/cabbage/other vegetables it costs me less than if I go to the store and just get cabbage and Broccoli. And like you said, many neighborhoods don't have groceries and that leaves an inexpensive option. I find the healthier Chinese restaurants are those that answer one question correctly - "Do you use MSG?". Those than don't tend to be more concerned with taste by sauces and ****es and such over the cheaper, simpler MSG. Panda Express adds no MDG. Chinese food when someone is selective can be a complete nutritional powerhouse.

Like you, I too acquire my soulfood at black ****** businesses and shun Chinamen to protest racism.

First we had privileged whites, latinos and real regular ******s trying to work and earn a living without giving the black man a cut. Now Chinamen too. Where is the black man's cut? What gives them the right to flaunt their entrepreneurship right in front of the black man without paying him a toll fee.

My father used to tell me "A black man is black" and I will never forget those words. The more I think about it the truer it is. I often pop my head into drive through windows and demand to know where's the black man's cut.

If I wrote a treatise about the entire world should pay taxes to the black man to apologize for the lack of blacks in That '70s Show, he would agree and give me green K. I don't know if he's out-trolling me or just a drug addict.

I mean I have a sig calling myself a ****** and he's still outdoing me. This guy is a true master.

Wth is wrong with a Korean owning a corner store in the first place lol I just don't get it.

He's just not bright enough to articulate his main point which I believe is he wants more blacks to own their own businesses in his city. There is nothing wrong with that, but tossing around the term Chinamen and acting like there is some Asian conspiracy to rip off blacks by owning corner stores is ridiculous.

                  smdh.... sigh.

devon using the term chinaman was the least racist thing he said in his facebook page regarding this subject. it was everything else he said that was ******, ignorant, and just downright effing ******ed.

of course your already stunted and limited perceptual ability and intelligence couldnt see past the black vs asian angle and went straight for the race card jugular.

just look at how you post here everyday. its people like you who continue to perpetrate all the bad stereotypes that society has of black people that bring down the black community, not asian people owning businesses.
