Comments Thread For: Frampton Hopes To Finish The Rubbish With Scott Quigg

Carl Frampton (18-0, 13KOs) has a big fight this coming Saturday night at Titanic Quarter in Belfast, when he faces IBF super bantamweight champion Kiko Martinez (31-4, 23KOs) in a rematch. Last February, Frampton knocked out Martinez in the ninth round.

After Martinez, Frampton wants to fight his domestic rival, WBA 'regular' champion Scott Quigg (28-0-2, 21KOs), in a unification. Quigg faces Stephane Jamoye (26-5, 16KOs) in a title defense on September 13th in Manchester.

Frampton would brutalise Quigg. Hope it lasts the distance or Quigg gets stopped in the championship rounds, that way everyone can see how far ahead The Jackal is in terms of skill and ability. After Scott he should try to hunt Leo's scary ass before he flees the division. Kiko will be an extremely difficult challenge once again but I'm confident Carl will tame him and ultimately put him down once again. War Frampton!

Quigg is nothing more than a paper champion and Frampton should only focus on Martinez and not worry about Quigg, as Martinez could sink him this Saturday like the Titanic in front of his fans.

How is Kiko a paper champion? Plus, Frampton isn't even a belt holder so is he excluded? Ok, we get it.. Rigo is the best fighter but just because that's something damn near everyone agrees with doesn't mean other fighters at the division can't be legitimate belt holders/champions/contenders. Leo and Scott are most def charmin extra soft champs though and it shows by their underwhelming resumes. However, I assure you if you're overlooking Kiko or contender Frampton because Rigo is the best at the division, you might need to watch the sport a bit closer. That's like saying anyone not named Floyd at 147 is a paper champion lol, when we know that's definitely not the case.

Excellent post. So many Rigo fan boys on this site just bashing every other 122 fighter. We get it, Rigo is the best fighter in the division, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that; but it's 2014, boxing has had multiple championships in each division for several decades now, interim and super belts are largely scandalous, yes, but there are 4 main titles, and just because a fighter isn't the NUMBER ONE in a division doesn't mean they're by extension paper champions. They still deserve respect. And for the record, I'd expect Frampton, if he beats Kiko, to look to unify with Rigo within a year or so. He fears no-one, that fight would be huge in Belfast. Rigo is also close to signing with Frank Warren, so would be much easier to make. I see Frampton taking care of Kiko, unifying with Quigg, then at that stage either taking a tune-up/fighting a mandatory or going straight to El Chaca.

Rigo's manager Gary Hyde has offered fights to Santa Cruz, Quigg, Frampton & Martinez. However none of them want to know! Quigg would have been better winning a Lonsdale belt out-right rather then play at being a Micky Mouse World champion! At least Frampton claimed EBU & Commonwealth titles!!.............

And Frampton said not YET, that was around 2-3 years ago and Frampton admitted he wasn't ready. Don't care what anyone says The Jackal will beat El Chacal. I supported Rigo when people like you were calling him "boring" and saying stuff like Amateur fights don't matter. Framps will win because he has everything. In fact ill bet my account if it ever happens that he knocks him out with a left hook. Framps even does Rigo's full stretch feints.
