Well let's be fair about this. The only time Kirkland made an issue about money that I'm aware of is when he had a shoulder injury and Canelo offered him a fight. Kirkland said he was injured but he would fight injured for a lot of money. Basically saying I'm in no condition to fight right now, but hell, give me enough money and I'll fight with one arm. So it's not as if Kirkland was being some sort of diva, he had a legit injury.

OP came to this conclusion because the Canelo/Clottey rumors intensified.... that's about it.
A source of discussions would be nice.

I might need to look back at it, but it was when he was listening to a new "adviser" who basically downplayed everybody, including Dunkin.

This was from James after rejecting the Canelo fight. Keep in mind he just had surgery on his shoulder:

"If I'm going to take a fight like this, and I've got one arm, and it takes time to rehabiltate and to train, then pay me for that," said Kirkland. "I would do that, but pay me for it. If my career is over with after this fight, I want to make sure that I don't walk away with nothing."

They came to an agreement before though, yea?

It was a six figure deal they agree too, then he re-injured his shoulder in his first workout, proposed a return to October/November and then 2 million bucks.

He was saying if I'm injured, make it worth my while.

Would have preferred Kirkland to take a fight before against someone like Maciel. Coming in on a 12 month lay off is not ideal when you're fighting either Canelo or Cotto.

Kirkland would destroy Cotto. Chewed up and spit out. I hope Kirkland does something soon. I don't know what the hell he's waiting on.
