Nothing happened to him, he's just waiting around for a fight. There was a video of him where he said he hopes to land the fight with Canelo.

Why would they choose Clottey over Kirkland? I don't get it.

I knew it was going to be Clottey. Golden Boy needs Canelo to look "flashy" after that boring performance with Lara. Andrade moves too much and Kirkland packs a heavy punch. I can see Canelo fighting both James and Demitrious in the future but not right now. They are looking for a soft touch. Wich is not even that bad since this is the third fight Canelo is going to have this year.

Im not picking Clottey to win, dont get me wrong here. Im rooting for Clottey but I dont think he will win this one.

I rewatched the Cotto-Clottey fight for the first time in years, and I only ended up scoring it a draw. I originally remembered Clottey did tons better, so the rewatch was disappointing because of how much he let Cotto get back into the fight with that bad cut.

I've been mostly joking when I've said Clottey would destroy Canelo, but it could still be potentially a tough fight. Hard to gauge how much of that Mundine performance was an illusion. When Winky Wright came back after a long layoff, I told myself he he had a style that would age well, and I ended up being wrong. Could be the same Clottey.

The only criticism of Clottey as the opponent over Kirkland is that although Clottey is the better fighter imo, he has found ways to lose some of his big fights. Kirkland might end up getting stopped but he wouldn't sabotage his chances to win. I still want to see Kirkland involved again dammit, he better be on one of these cards
