I think that confirms that Canelo's next fight will be on HBO. HBO doesn't want to spend too much money on Canelo's and Cotto's December opponents.

Anyways, Canelo vs. Clottey is a decent fight. Canelo should win.

This is a pick em fight

I think Clottey has the power to drop Canelo but Canelo doesn't have the power to drop Clottey

My first thoughts are Clottey wins

Its going to be an ugly fight though but Canelo will probably win on workrate unless he gasses from trying to throw punches through clotteys double guard.
I agree on the chin part. But at the same time Clottey can be way too stationery with his double guard...that's like inviting Canelo to unload his combos.

Clottey is coming off a good win over Anthony Mundine where he dropped Mundine around 4-5 times.

A user just predicted this less than 24 hours ago when it was announced this wasn't a PPV fight. Props to that user.

I thought I heard Kirkland say he was waiting to hear about Canelo or Cotto, but maybe he was just responding ot a question about Cotto not sure.

I like the fight...I think Clottey is still viable, of course it was hard to trust him after Pac but he showed me something in the Mundine win. I would love to welcome him back because he was a good fighter before that horrible night. he's gotten two stoppages now at 154.. it's not going to be PPV, common opponent with Cotto. Canelo's workrate isn't at all near what pac is so there are going to be exchances, he won't be handcuffed stylistically

Yup, Clottey was also severely weight drained at 147. I remember when he gained 23 lbs overnight when he fought Diego Corrales back in 2007, lol. The guy stepped in the ring weighing 170 freakin pounds, smh. Clottey's healthy at 154, he's gonna beat Canelo.

He wants a soft touch. He lost to Lara, his team knows and so does he.

There's just one problem: The fight won't be at 154! Hello catchweight! (Unless there is a title on the line)

Not much of a difference, lol. Clottey whips him at 155 too.
