Khytrov back in September, possibly ShoBox in November. Thoughts on progression?

Still amazed at this..... Fortune's a tough cookie. His only loss was against Tureano Johnson. Mike Tyson's gonna be a great promoter

So his September fight is cancelled evidently

By: Almir Teslic Ievgen Khytrov was scheduled to return September 26th, in Dallas, but the September return for the former amateur star h...

Probably for the best... been pretty active this year and fought better opposition than people in their first year usually fight. Supposedly fighting a fellow prospect up next within his first year.... so might as well prep for that.

Well Haymon has quite a few prospects at 154/160, so he might be willing to risk clearing some space so he can invest in his best. At 160 he has Tony Harrison, Terrell Gausha, Dominic Wade, and Jermall Charlo. At 154 he has J.Williams, Jermell Charlo, and the crown ***el Errol Spence. Louis Rose & Paul Mendez both already have mucked up resumes and neither figure to ever become stars (solid fighters though). But should either be able to bump off Khytrov, their value would rise considerably.

As far as Haymon sinking his claws into Khytrov - nah. Khytrov's team is pretty settled and tight. And Haymon won't get you any fights with HBO, he can only get fights with Showtime and with growing stable of fighters that's only lucrative for the big names (as they milk the Showtime budget with stay busy fights).

Pretty sure i remember an interview with Haymon from 2 or 3 years ago where he laughed when asked if he would ever sign a white boxer. He'll sign Latinos but Whites aren't his thing.

Edit- Ya it was from Ring Magazine. Thread on it.

Thats actually good to know because I don't want him to sign with him. I'd love to see him bump his fighters though, hope his next fight is against one of them.

Either Tyson made a deal with showtime, or they just started working closer together.... I forget.

Anyway, both him and Lubin are gettin active... so that's cool.

I think Sammy Vasquez is his too.... they might try and grow him in the Pittsburgh area.... think he had a very good showing in his ShoBox event
