Khytrov back in September, possibly ShoBox in November. Thoughts on progression?

    Okay, so saw this:

They seem to be moving Khytrov fairly fast, he only become a pro last December and has been steadily getting work in. Willie Fortune was a decent step up as a 5th fight and he destroyed him.

Tyson seems to be good for him too because since they hooked up in the summer, he's being kept active on some decent shows.

If he does get on ShoBox in November, that'd be a big boost.

Him and Lubin seem to be the building blocks for Tyson's promotions. He's trying to push Savigne, but don't know how far he'll go, he's 36 too.

Thoughts on his progression and possible fights this year? IMO, being moved along nice. Fast, but not as hard as Lomachenko or Murata.

September date cancelled, November ShoBox still on

Good progression. Don't care about the Shobox as it's a cringeworthy show and they'll reduce his competition level for it. Shobox would be a step down at this point.

Yea, dunno who he's fighting, but ShoBox is a good exposure for him and Mike Tyson. Then again, I don't know how Friday ShoBox does in comparison to FNF. He had one FNF I think and then his last was on ShoBox

I like how they've been developing Khytrov so far, and Tyson definitely has seemed a good fit. I think FNF is a bigger platform in terms of viewership, but Showbox generally entails a relatively higher level of competition. At anyrate, hopefully Khytrov protects himself better as he moves up in competition because in his previous fights he's seemed careless at times and will end up taking unneccesary punishment in the future.

The article is pretty interesting in that they mention his September fight will be in Dallas, and that the November fight on Showbox will be against another prospect. Being that it's on Showbox which is primarily a GB distributer I'm thinking it'll be either Louis Rose or Paul Mendez. Both would be solid fights for Ivegen and I know his manager's tried to make fights with both of those guys in the past.

If i'm not mistaken did Khytrov not either get hurt or dropped in one of his last fights? Maybe i'm wrong and thinking of some other euro fighter.

Not dropped, but he was hurt and stunned in his FNF fight.

You might be thinking about Taras Shelestyuk, Ukrainian Olympian who got dropped on FNF. It was a flash KD, though. I believe

Anyway, hopefully it's a good level of comp if this showtime thing goes off. Agreed about defending himself better, he just blows past his opponents and doesn't really worry about what they dish out, that's why he got in a little bit of trouble in his FNF fight.

Khytrov is the next big star to rise out of Eastern Europe.
