Trainer Jeff Mayweather, the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr., sees Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38KOs) retaining his WBO welterweight championship on November 22nd in Macau when he faces undefeated challenger Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs).

Algieri had an upset in June, winning a twelve round split decision over Ruslan Provodnikov to capture the WBO junior welterweight crown. The fight with Pacquiao takes place at a catch-weight of 144-pounds.

Jeff is spot on. Back in the day, a champion would not lose his belt in a fight that close. What didn't pass the smell test was how long it took for the decision to be announced. Right then, I knew Ruslan was going to lose the fight. I think this was another Arum job, to keep Ruslan away from Manny.

Jeff does have a great, great point here. I don't see having much problem with Al. But I guess looking at it in a positive light "for Pac", he's been in some really tough fights (I.E. Tim, JMM, etc) he could use a lighter opponent.

I see this post and wonder if you even understand the sport. It wasn't a feather fisted bum that put Chris down. It was also in a 17 foot ring, and his eye was toast from that one lucky punch. What proceeded after is a testament of how good Chris is, to outbox a man with one eye in such a small ring is tremendous.

No he doesn't. He contradicts himself like an idiot. "Don't get me wrong Algieri was in a phone booth in a fight where everything was set up for him to lose".

But he doesn't find anything impressive about that?? That's about the ******est thing I've heard from a knowledgeable boxing insider in a while.
