  • Comments Thread For: Quillin-Korobov is Heading To Barclays, 11/1; TV TBA

Pending signed contracts from all parties involved, the middleweight title fight between unbeaten titlist Peter Quillin and undefeated mandatory challenger will take place November 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The bout was rumored to land in Brooklyn or Washington D.C., two locations where Roc Nation Sports – Jay Z’s sports agency, making its boxing event debut with this card – holds a promoter’s license. Barclays Center makes the most sense, given Jay Z’s direct ties to the venue. The CEO of Barclays Center is Brett Yormark, whose brother Michael serves in a similar role for Roc Nation.

Have a feeling hbo is gonna pick this up. Would put a great lead in and way for them to promote the big one the week after.

I think Korobov wins honestly, I imagine Roc Nation will just give it to the highest bidder, but they ****ing hate Haymon so maybe HBO gets it by default.

I've got Korobov in this. If Quillin wins he'll continue to duck GGG and then he'll be popping off at the mouth with stuff like, "GGG's not in my league, I'm the star, check my purse for Korobov, blah, blah, blah"

Next round of fights for next year:
            Canelo vs cotto
            Quillin vs golovkin
            Stevens/ndam winner vs soliman
            Sounds good to me.

Maybe... I mean Showtime has a show already for UIC same date. I don't think it will, unless they can broadcast it for cheap, HBO already pumping money into all these different shows in November.

              Fonfara/TBA
              Tomoki/Mando
              Roberto Garcia/TBA

Unless they move the date, don't see how they'd do two shows. They'd have to move the show a week back or on the 15th... but that'd run in with the Cain Velasquez fight... and HBO has pretty much every other date in NOV
