First of all, Lara beat Canelo and got robbed. 2nd of all, Cotto can't handle slick boxers. If cotto couldn't beat trout, what makes anyone think he could beat Lara.

Cotto is a much better boxer than canelo, so to anyone who thought Lara won, it would not be a shutout. Secondly Lara was terrified of canelos power so he spent the whole round moving as fast as possible laterally to avoid him. He wouldn't do this with cotto, so it would be a better fight. That's not boxing, that's some of the worst running I've seen in 15 years of dedicated viewing. And lastly, canelito whooped that traitor of la revolucion.

Logically Cotto would lose to Lara. Trout had no problem beating Cotto and Lara is a slick southpaw similar to Trout only better with more speed and power. Canelo deserves lots of credit for edging Lara out in a close fight. Canelo is probably the only 154 pounder who can beat Lara. Lara is not someone who Cotto would fight anyway because he is very high risk and low reward money wise.
