PS: I don't get it, why they wanna sell GGG as a Mexican style fighter?
Just because he is offensive? LOL @ this.
There are many different styles in boxing not every style is Mexican which is offensive.
For me the example of the tipical Mexican style from the active fighters is Salido and I don't see many similarity between GGG's and Salido's style, to be honest. Golovkin almost never fights on the inside, he always try to stay in mid range and he is more like a precise predator than a "fearless warrior". Plus I don't know how Golovkin's overly polite, good boy image fits in the Mexican warrior image but we will see, I guess HBO knows it better and there is a reason why they want to sell GGG as a Mexican style fighter.

Walters is better though. He's a Jamaican fighter with KO power who fought his way to the top, not some protected Haymon hype-job.

Golovkin is said to have a similar style to Chavez Sr. He comes forward but in an elusive manner.

Anyway, the Mexican style reference is really that he comes to fight and not to run.

Personally I think Russell Jr. fought a good fight against Lomachenko. He wasn't schooled or anything like that. He was simply beaten by a guy who had the most successfull amateur carreer ever (plus Loma had reach and height advantage as well). I don't think that Gary exposed on that night. A L from Lomachenko IMO is not an embrassing thing. Maybe Russell should try himself in one division down.

I thought he did okay, but the guy got preferential treatment on the way up. He was fighting 8 rounders on TV when no one knew who he was and he managed to get a mandatory spot without beating anyone of note. The term TBA is synonymous with Gary Russell. If he fought "someone" before the title shot would he ever have got there with the big payday? I'm sceptical.

In saying that, Lomachenko also received two title shots preferentially but at least he backed it up.

GGG, duh. No one even knows who Walters is and what people remember of Donaire is Rigondeaux out-classing him.

Donaire is an undercard level fighter - always has been overrated to kingdom come.
