Comments Thread For: Donaire-Walters Being Added To Golovkin-Rubio Bill

According to promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, a featherweight showdown between WBA champions Nonito Donaire (33-2, 21KOs) and Nicholas Walters (24-0, 20KOs) is going to be the opening fight of the HBO televised broadcast to the middleweight battle between Gennady Golovkin and Marco Antonio Rubio.

Donaire is the WBA's "super champion" at the weight, while Walters is the "regular champion" and regarded as one of the most dangerous punchers at any weight. Some are already regarding the match as the most dangerous of Donaire's career.

This is the kind of fight that makes boxing great. It's too bad we don't get it more often. Donaire has looked really shaky to me in recent years. He was losing to Darchinyan before the knockout. He got soundly beaten by Rigo. And his last fight was an abomination. Walters is going to bring it all and I think as long as his chin holds up, he'll win.

This card might be more exciting than any of the ppv cards out there! Big step up by HBO, especially after that crap Showtime's been shoveling...

Donaire's been on a slide ever since he was voted boxer of the year, but Walters in my opinion is pretty untested and this is a big step up for him. If he's careless Donaire will really test that chin.

Good fight , ducknaire . either the rematch to vetyeka or Walters . Great fight . This is what we need from boxing : competitive match ups . Walters can hit hard and ducknaire hits hard too . Someone is getting tkoed .

Ducknaire is showing more balls than santacruz ; he fought rigo , vetyeka and now Walters ... What about you ? Santacruz : you are the new joke .

Credit to donaire , Walters is tough .

Hit and not be hit .

Honestly this should be the headline fight. But donaire doesn't get views anyways.
