Floyd can't use them because he has weak hands/wrists so he doesn't want his opponent to use them either. it's a big issue this time around because maidana's biggest advantage over floyd is his power. So of course floyd doing his best to negate that advantage.

This wouldn't even be an issue if Maidana could actually BOX! It's an issue because he relies on his power to win and he NEEDS punchers gloves. But to answer the question, Floyd is just making it known that he's the A side and he's going to try to have every advantage as possible. Weak sauce but that's the perk of being on top.

This " issue" just makes me want to miss the whole event all together. And add in one of the shiieettiest undercards in recent years, not a good competitive fight in the undercard, now they add this "no punchers glove" rule to make it even more one sided. Buying this is literally flushing money doing the tiolet.
