Why are punchers gloves such a BIG ISSUE for FLoyd?

floyd fought countless punchers wearing punchers gloves. but everyone knows team garcia is known for being cheaters, they even expressed it on camera before and during the fight. this is the trainer margarito went to after being disgraced.

it wasnt even floyd who caught it first, it was members of his team, floyd sr first, then ellerbe and then finally floyd himself. they felt stuffing was missing and knowing team garcias history werent willing to take any risk of foul play.

i dont agree with it, but thats the issue.


now what i like to know is why is this such a big deal now? why do people pretend this is something new? something only floyd does?

fighters have been picking their opponent gloves for years, the klitschos do it, hearns used to do it at the end of his career, morales did it for the vast majority of his career (including his fight with maidana), DLH did it. in fact DLH did it to floyd! and there are many more examples. yet people pretend this is something floyd started, something only he does.

i dont think gloves, ring size or any of that stuff should be part of the contract negotiations as it gives the money fighter an advantage. he can stack the odds in his favor and just say "take it or leave it". but lets not pretend floyd is the only guy who does this and give everyone else a pass. if you are going to give him **** everyone else who is guilty of this deserves the same and lets be very clear about the fact that this is not rare at all in boxing.

morales is completely different because he didn't make a scene about it and threatened not to fight unless his opponent wore whatever gloves he wanted. and he showed that it wasn't much of an issue since he let his opponents wear whatever gloves they wanted in the rematch.

floyd on the other hand won't budge because he is a coward. he clearly forced maidana to wear softer gloves and showed his true cowardice in front of the camera.

Whatever history Garcia has is irrelevant to this conversation. They hadn't touched the gloves. Whatever might have been wrong with that one specific pair, which might have been nothing at all, had nothing to do with anyone involved with Maidana. When the second pair was approved, that should have been the end of the issue.

Caught and missing what exactly? Those gloves where sealed straight from the factory, no one tampered with them. If they didn't like those gloves fine. They had another pair of Red MX Everlast that were still wrapped in plastic, and the comission approved those gloves opun inspection.

This " issue" just makes me want to miss the whole event all together. And add in one of the shiieettiest undercards in recent years, not a good competitive fight in the undercard, now they add this "no punchers glove" rule to make it even more one sided. Buying this is literally flushing money doing the tiolet.
