Comments Thread For: Hearn: Mayweather vs. Brook Would Sell Out Wembley

Promoter Eddie Hearn has big plans for IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook. Following last Saturday's decision victory over Shawn Porter, Brook became one of three beltholders in boxing’s hottest division, with the other two champions being superstars such as Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Hearn accepts that the new world champion is not yet on the pair's radar, but believes he could be considered after a few more notable wins.

If Brook goes out and beats Khan next then I would agree.

Mayweather isn't even allowed into the UK.

Even if he was, selling out Wembley isn't going to help Showtime pay his $32m guarantee, nor are they going to get a huge site fee from Wembley that they'd get from the MGM.

Moreover, it's not a competitive match-up imo. Pure boxer v pure boxer, and Floyd is the obviously superior pure boxer.

It would sell out because of Mayweather, not because of brook. Isn't Mayweather the most popular fighter in the UK.

It's difficult to say how popular he is. How many tickets would he sell against Maidana in the UK? Probably nowhere near 80,000, he would need a British opponent to do those numbers if it even does that many.

I bet Canelo vs Cotto sells out at Wembley and the biggest arena in Ireland.

Lol at reporters failing to mention this and continuing to ask fraud questions about coming to England to fight Khan
