I want to see him fight Canelo now, not next year.

All his other "safety first" options are crap. Might as well rematch Delvin Rodriguez like another poster mentioned.

To be honest, I wouldn’t mind seeing Cotto Vs. Lara. I know it sounds silly, and that fight is definitely not on anyone’s wish-list or radar, but I think it’s an interesting match-up. I think stylistically it wouldn’t be a bad fight. Lara is a great boxer who likes to move and use the ring, and Cotto, is a great boxer-puncher who loves to cut-off the ring. Lara has enough power to keep ‘em honest and Cotto has enough power, to slow Lara down and possibly hurt him. I know Lara schooled Trout, who beat Cotto, but its two completely different styles of fighting. I think Canelo vs Cotto is a little interesting, but Canelo isn’t really all that special, even if he can beat Cotto. Canelo is great at absorbing shots and walking right through them, and clearly has the weight and power advantage over Cotto. Canelo vs Cotto is a 60/40 in Canelos favor because of his youth, power, and size. This is coming from a COTTO “Stan” btw. Let’s see COTTO VS LARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Yes I may be a bit delusional.)

        Bradley or Canelo sounds good.

But if he does a soft touch I guess I won't be mad if the undercard is good. But then Canelo or Bradley. For those thinking GGG...let GGG fight Ward.

Now that you have schooled me. Cotto the over the hill, shell shocked, done fighter moved up and won.
Then GGG the killer, monster, ko artist can move up too.
We want good fights don't we ?

The polls feel Cotto gets obliterated by GGG. While the Ward vs GGG polls have it going either way....again we want good fights don't we?

boxing isn't decided by polls or fantasy. he's been #1 for awhile and deserves a chance at the championship. ward also doesn't make for good fights since he clinches nonstop without punishment. i don't want to see that fight unless it has a real ref. i know cotto-ggg will be fought on the level even if ggg is a big favorite.

Him and Canelo along with the promoters and teams are going to play the milking game. Look how many fights have been spoiled with that bullshit in the history of boxing. They're all guilty and bitches if you ask me.

                      Absolutely right.
But we weren't discussing how polls or fantasies decide fights. We were discussing our preference in competition.

Most fans preference are in fights in which we are not sure of the winner. Though we understand there is no sure thing in boxing, we still want the fights we believe can go either way.
As hard core fans most if us thought Cotto was too small for even 154.
Do we think he is now just right for 160 and the best in the division?

I think GGG and Ward is a toss up but leaning towards Ward. Why? Because he is naturally bigger just like GGG is naturally WAY bigger than Cotto.
