i think it was a solid combination of both.. calzaghe was simply too fast and too continuous for Lacy, he just frustrated him all night with those two attributes. You gotta take your hat off to Calzaghe though, he really came to win and took Lacy out of his game. Lacy was very truthful in his post-fight comment though, saying he'd learn from this, that he went in there thinking he'd just KO Calzaghe, and that he'll be back. I think it was just bad-strategy on Jeff part.. great performance from Calzaghe though..

i agree with the post above mine, i knew once joe went into his corner and said, "His power is ****" and "Hes ****, hes ****" that Jeff would be in for a long night. He made Lacy look like an ametuar

Joe simply outclassed him in every way. I was never a Calzaghe fan, but that was about as impressed and surprised as I can remember being in a long time.

There was a point in the 2nd round, when Joe popped Lacy with 2-3 punches, ducked a punch from Lacy, hit him again, then ducked another, then hit him with two more. You could see right there that Lacy was reduced to being a headhunter and that was his only chance. But Lacy took too many shots and had no power on his punches in the 2nd half of the fight, and had no legs for the last 4 rounds. I was saying from round 9 on that the fight should be stopped. He was falling down, had jelly legs, bleeding from 2 swollen eyes and his nose, and there was nothing on his punches. A beating like this can ruin a fighter, and there was really no reason for him to take the punishment he did in the last few rounds.

Shaw (the idiot that he is) was yelling for the fight to be stopped WHEN THERE WERE LIKE 10 SECS LEFT. LOL I was like "Dude, where were you two rounds ago." Lacy's lawyer friend that was ringside was the only guy who looked like he wanted the fight stopped. He was gettting up and talking to Shaw and Lacy's corner a couple times late in the fight and think he might have been asking for them to stop it.
