Canelo of coarse. Although, hasn't his true age been questioned before?

My bad I had a feeling he was overgrowing prosect status. Time for him to step it up. Good thread i picked up some new names to follow from the poll.

By far Canelo is the more accomplished....but I think Valdez may be the most talented.

A little background on who I think are the top 4 contenders for being the best fighter under the age of 25:

            1. Naoya Inoue - 21 yrs. old - 6W(5KO)-0L-0D - W.B.C. Light Flyweight Champ. Combined record of his opponents is 107W-22L-10D, which is unheard of for a fighter so young. Best wins: Adrian Hernandez and Ryoichi Taguchi.

I recommend Inoue vs. Hernandez if you've never seen him fight.

            2. Juan Francisco Estrada - 24 yrs. old - 26W(19KO)-2L-0D - W.B.O. & W.B.A. Unified Flyweight Champ. Best wins: Brian Viloria and Milan Melindo. Only 2 losses are to former or current world champions Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. and Roman Gonzalez.

I recommend you watch Estrada vs. Gonzalez and Estrada vs. Viloria if you've never seen him fight before.

            3. Francisco Rodriguez Jr. - 21 yrs. old - 16W(11KO)-2L-0D - I.B.F. & W.B.O. Unified Minimumweight Champ. Best wins: Katsunari Takayama and Merlito Sabillo. 1 of his 2 losses was to undefeated 2 division former champion Roman Gonzalez.

I recommend you watch Rodriguez Jr. vs. Takayama if you haven't seen him fight before.

            4. Canelo - 24 yrs. old - I'm sure everyone already knows enough about Canelo.

Here's some info on some of the other fighters:

Felix Verdejo - 21 yrs. old - Just beat Oscar Bravo recently, who is a very durable journeyman. Diego Magdaleno, who is much older and more experienced than Verdejo fought Bravo not too long ago. I think Verdejo did just as good, if not better than Magdaleno.

Omar Figueroa - 24 yrs. old - W.B.C. Lightweight Champ. Just stopped the durable Daniel Estrada in his last fight. Had a F.O.T.Y. candidate last year against Nihito Arakawa. Beat the giraffe s**t out of fellow prospect Michael Perez a few years back. Great action fighter. Probably won't have the longest career.

Frankie Gomez - 22 yrs. old - Beat the elephant s**t out of Vernon Paris in his last fight. Great action fighter like Figueroa, but seems to be a lot smarter, and a much better boxer.

Jermell Charlo - 24 yrs. old - Best win is Gabriel Rosado, which is a great win for such a young fighter. I mean Peter Quillin went life and death with Rosado, and Gennady Golovkin gets praised for his win over Rosado.

Tomoki Kameda - 23 yrs. old - W.B.O. Bantamweight Champ. Shined in his U.S. debut on Showtime Extreme with a bodyshot K.O. against Singyu. Beat Paulus Ambunda a few fights ago. Ambunda is Scott Quigg's upcoming opponent. Quigg is fighting leftovers and seems to get much more hype and praise than Kameda.

Gilberto Ramirez - 23 yrs. old - He's beaten a bunch of solid journeyman, seems to have good power, and works the body a lot. Tall and strong. Has a lot of potential. Ramirez vs. Chavez Jr. in about a year or two could be huge.

No Marvelous Marvin Sonsona? He just got a decent win over WV2.

Lol, you should have said 25 or below, that way there would be some competition, like Thurman, Broner, Fortuna, Quigg.

Refreshing thread. The kind of stuff you would expect to see on the biggest (?) boxing forum.

I picked Estrada. The smaller weights get no love. Everyone's obsessed with the 140-154 pounders.

Canelo is just not versatile enough. Guy needs a new trainer -- someone to be the brains in his corner because he has shown little adaptability in most of his recent fights.
