Everyone knows that floyd loves that green belt and it just so happened that gatti had it which is why the fight got made... hatton who was still not really known got a fight with the lineal champ kostya tyszu and beat him in his country the UK.. hatton who fought exclusively on showtime was not a big draw as far as ratings go at first because he wasnt world reknown which was why a floyd/hatton fight didnt get made in 2005...not enough money was involved yet and if it was as big as you think it would have been in 2005 why wouldnt showtime and hbo come together to make that fight happen?? Hbo and showtime saw $$$$$ signs which was why lewis/tyson ended up getting made.

now its about money for floyd? he gave up 8 mill against margarito and fought de la hoya for like 2 mil more. Even though margarito was a more dangerous fight. Oh and dont forget floyd gave up 20 mill in his rematch with de la hoya by retiring that first time. smh.

Its about money for everyone involved...hbo had floyd, showtime had hatton... in 2005 the fight didnt make financial sense cuz if it had showitime/hbo would have came together to make that fight just like they did wirh tyson/lewis.. and yeah floyd ducked margarito and turned out to be a smart choice because cheato would have used illegal wraps had they fought, and de la hoya?? I dont think fans were really to interested in the rematch to be honest...

Let me school you for a quick sec. In mayweathers first fight at light welterweight, he fought demarcus corley in a wbc title eliminator in may 22, 2004, his 32nd pro fight. Cotto didn't win his wbo belt until sept 11,2004 against kelson pinto, his 21st pro fight. Then mayweather fought henry bruseles and then gatti for the wbc belt in 2005. Ricky hatton was another title holder at 140 and their names where mentioned for later on in the year. Hatton even invited mayweather to his later dated fight that year, mayweather declined. Then, mayweather decided to vacate the title and move up weight class. So how the hell is cotto ducking mayweather there? Only in F L O M O S land does that happen. smh.

Maybe you should reference the article in which Hatton and his father stated clearly that they were not ready for Floyd on 2 occasions. Don't be so one sided to suit your agenda.

Floyd Mayweather is NOT interested in a fight with Cotto 2007-12-16..... Floyd gave his thought on Cotto trying to lure Floyd into a fight...... more importantly, Floyd doesn't feel the fight makes any financial sense at the moment.

I'm pretty sure over that same 9 years, Paulie Mags had more than 2 KO's. I'm pretty sure Chris Algieri had more than 2 KO's. I'm pretty sure Rod Salka had his 3 KO's during that same stretch! I'm pretty sure Gennady has 2 KO's in 2014.... In fact I think Gennady has knocked out 15 straight in 5 years.

Sorry Floyd, you hold yourself out to be the P4P Undefeated greatest thing since sliced bread, so you can be held to a high standard. 2 KO's in 9 YEARS???? That happens because in order to knock someone out, you have to engage, and you don't like that, and you don't like getting hit. So don't sell us on how you gave fans what they wanted in the Cotto & Maidana fights by standing in there. Those guys MADE you fight.
