Former welterweight champion Andre Berto (28-3, 22KOs) is going to face Philadelphia's Steven Upsher (24-3-1, 6KOs) at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Berto has been inactive since a twelfth round TKO defeat to Jesus Soto Karass in July of 2013. Following the fight, Berto had to undergo shoulder surgery for injuries suffered during the loss.

And so the pattern has claimed another victim
Berto - weak opposition, loses whenever he steps up
gary russell jr - weak opposition, loses when he finally stepped up
deontay wilder - weak opposition, has a title fight coming up - expect him to get blown out
Peter quillin - faces weak comp before and during title reign (he was goona lose to rosado)
Can't say too much bad with Garcia - even tho that last fight should have never happened PERIOD! He defied the odds and is somewhat proven - but at 147 all of his deficiencies will be magnified and exploited..

Berto would probably beat Broner and I'm not kidding.

Man, you guys should've heard the reception these Haymon fighters got at StubHub on Saturday or I should say lack thereof. Swift got straight up booed, which I thought was a little harsh. Devon, Berto, Thurman, and I think Pederson too got no reaction at all. And these are boxing fans there not casuals.

Don't really care who Berto fights in his first couple fights back. The dude has got stopped like 3 straight and had surgery. One thing about Berto is he puts on a good fight win or lose. I hope he gets back to competitive level to see him in there with some names at 147. Maybe Garcia or Matthysse when they move up.
