Top name fighter + mediocre opponent + shtty undercard = PPV Event. Seems like Showtime is losing $$ big time especially when they had the "most expensive" undercard last time. That's the reason we are getting fkd
Golden Boy and Haymon following Arums PPV recipe

I don't know the porter brook undercard was pretty good. No undercard will ever be perfect because of the different dates that fighters are scheduled to fight. -
its same thing but the matches themsevles are not similar at all
these mismatches are incomparable

97th ranked bantamweight
one of these guys are gonna get seriously hurt and everybody involved should be embarrassed to be a part of it
imagine if the guy lsc is fighting gets really seriously hurt and cant step into the ring ever again
its a real possibility

They have different models. Golden Boy likes to stack their undercards (use to) and Top Rank rather showcase their propspects on their undercards (everyones fav Rigo use to fight Pacman undercards).
The main reason GBP would stack their cards is because of the lack of dates available on Showtime and no HBO. Now Showtime has lesser money to spend on fights but now GBP has the possibility of going back on HBO.
Top Rank may not put any big names on their undercards but sometimes they have good matchups produces an entertaining fight.
As a fighter that could probably headline your own card on Showtime/HBO, would you rather do that or split some of your purse with 2 other 'co-main events"?Comment

Except the names on the undercard will still be getting mid range 6 figures. LSC got 500k to be on Canelo's undercard. No way he gets paid less on a MayweatherComment

They should honestly cancel the Leo Santa Cruz fight, that's not good business for LSC to destroy somebody, the Garcia/Salka fight was scary. Great KO, but Salka had no business fighting "Swift". Just move Soto/Molina to the PPV, that's a good fight to start the card off with.Comment

And Santa Cruz isn't exactly a puncher. He's a volume guy, which means this Roman guy is going to take hundreds of punches over multiple rounds. That's more dangerous than Danny Garcia GARSHing a fighter in 2 rounds.its same thing but the matches themsevles are not similar at all

These mismatches serve multiple purposes. Mainly that they allow Haymon's fighters to fight out their contracts at the least amount of risk, and they make Golden Boy look bad in the process.
Not to mention Haymon's already set such a high standard for what his fighters expect to be paid, that Showtime can't match the purses they'd all expect for the good fights. Some are going to have to fight crap fights they're overpaid for, but not as overpaid as they would be for good fights. If Garcia is making 700k for Salka, what would he want for a dangerous fight at 147?Comment
