For years, it was Amir Khan standing on top of the British 140/147 scene and looking down at his domestic rival Kell Brook. The positioning may have switched on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, when Brook captured the IBF welterweight title with a career-defining victory over previously undefeated Shawn Porter.
Brook (33-0, 22KOs), and his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, are very interested in doing the fight with Khan. When fight discussions were mentioned, it was Khan who was calling the shots and controlling the scenario of where and when the fight would take place - but now Hearn says Brook is the man in command of the talks.
