  • Brook is the Real Deal. Respect.

No one outside of the UK took Brook seriously, myself included. He looked good against the guys he was fighting, but they were guys like Carson Jones. Porter is no world beater, but he's definitely a legit fighter in the welterweight division, and he had no answers for Brook. Not going to spin this into some nationalist bull****, Kell was the better fighter and looked good last night.

No rematch necessary. Look forward to seeing more of Special K, especially against Alexander or Khan. Respect.

I wanted Brook to win cause UK fighters are always underrated and fighters in the US are always overhyped, but I also liked Porter and considered him a favorite, and I must say that I am both happy Brook won, and pleasantly surprised he did so well. He is the real deal, everyone but Floyd, Maidana, and Manny lose to him in the division, and it's hard to admit it but yes Bradley falls to Special K also.

I think Brook looked like real deal last night.

To be that calm and box the way he did away from home was very impressive.

Brook also showed one of the best jabs in the game today. Very impressed.

Me neither. Porter looked very wild reckless and fought dirty and Kell brook seemed pretty inactive and was initiating so many clinches.

It was just a lame fight.

I made a thread 2 years ago saying Brook is the real deal.

Glad he has now had the chance to prove himself.

He would be competing with any welter in the world IMO. Not saying he would beat May and Pac although the latter I would not bet against at this stage.

Would love to go to Brook v Khan at Wembley.

He beat Porter in an ugly fight and got a belt out of the deal, good for him, not many people though he would but theres plenty of guys in the division he could lose to if they fought aside from the ones you mentioned. Four of them being Marquez, Bradley, Khan and Thurman, people are getting excited about his win last night but forget he hasn't looked that great up until this point, that's why he wasn't the favorite last night. Im not trying to discredit his win but beating Shawn Porter doesn't mean he would wipe out the other guys in the division.

Kell showed that's a legit top 5 to 10 welterweight. In that sense he is the real deal. I won't say he's elite yet. But it was an impressive showing.
