He was allegedly 180-190lbs of muscle when he was 12 years old. So yeah... a welterweight.

Mike blew up to over 300 pounds in retirement before becoming a vegan.
I never knew Tyson never lifted. Didnt he admit to using steroids. I know he was on ******* especially before the Douglas fight.

I hope Im not assassinating Mikes character. I like Tyson. Im proud that he has turned his life around

Some idiot above is trying to say Mike's natural weight was LESS than his competition weight.

Mike's most effective weight is difficult to assess. At rthe time he is generally credited with being prime he was 215. Or sometimes up to 220. 215-220 seems to be his optimum weight.

Mike NEVER weighed 200lbs in a professional boxing match ever. I dunno what some crack heads are smoking here!

And his "natural" weight would have been about 250lbs or something. Mike was a tank!

Sure, he did some muscle work, but he was no weight lifter, he did mainly calisthenics and stuff. His muscles were mainly a result of his natural build. Mike was simply a tank!

Haye had to cut weight significantly to make Cruiserweight, while taller he is nowhere near the wide frame of Tyson. Tyson probably would have packed a bit of fat on the already wide frame he has if he wasn't boxing. He would probably be heavier than he weighed during his career. He was always going to be more than 200 pounds.

He was meant to be a naturally big guy, huge frame to support all the weight, I have never seen a guy with so much muscle be that fast. I think he fought at his natural weight. Like someone has already mentioned, don't trust those body weight charts, they don't take muscle and frame size into account, furthermore Tyson was a freak of nature.

Mike is naturally a very stocky and thick set guy. Even as a young kid he was built like a brick ****house.

He was about 12/13 and very thick and muscular, even then he had a neck as thick as most blokes thighs.

He was 14 here and slimmed down

He could bench over 200lbs aged 12.

The chart at the link below shows the what weight men of various heights should be. Mike Tyson was 5'10. The heaviest a man that height should be is 180 lbs (we're excluding bodybuilding here).

Not true. I've seen videos on Youtube of him lifting weights, and using a leg extension as well as a squat/smyth machine.
