Paulie is at the end of his career and that night he was in against a strong guy with a solid punch that was able to catch him flush.

Yeah that's exactly what happened. Paulie said after the fight (a few weeks later lol), that he knew Porter usually attacks in spurts (w/ an in-and-out fashion) but when he just came in full steam ahead he had no answer for him.

Seeing the highlights of the Paulie fight again, was just tragic. Porter bludgeoned him and Paulie was really lucky he made it out with all of his faculties. He should never fight again.

The fact Paulie was eating clean power punches in bunches, doesn't help his case at all.

That's basically what happened. And the truth is that Paulie didn't have enough power to keep Porter gun-shy so Porter pretty much just steamrolled through him. The game plan worked that time but Brook has a lot more power than Paulie.

plus Paulie's legs didn't look like they were really serving him well in the Porter fight. he either didn't train fully or he really is shot anyway. could just be shot. he kind of reminded me of how martinez looked vs cotto.

There's quite a few Welters that would had stopped Paulie that night Porter did it so dominantly/unexpectedly it made the masses grasping for answers.

Paulie backing straight up, Porter timing it well and the shots landing cleanly. Porter is strong. He shook Devon up several times and Devon has eaten shots from some of the biggest punchers in boxing.
