No other big name at 160 wants to fight GGG so we have to settle for the Rubios, Moras and Andy Lees of the division.

Cotto literally has THE WHOLE division to choose from, so choosing Rubio would have been a bit disappointing. I personally wouldnt have a problem with Cotto-Rubio since Rubio is a top 10 MW and mandatory as well.

People don't want Cotto to fight Rubio because they're afraid Rubio might upset Cotto and ruin an Alvarez fight

It's regular HBO, it's gonna be a name, but not an expensive name. This just screams Andy Lee in MSG

Well the reason is GGG called out Cotto and wants to unify but Cotto ducked him to fight whoever in December...GGG has no other options in his division that is better then Rubio...GGG is fighting his best options and Cotto isnt...that is the difference...

Lets be honest. GGG is the Middleweight Champion. Sergio ducked him. Cotto's ducking him or should duck him. Cotto is a small 154 lber (or 155 whatev). Its Cotto vs Canelo whenever they get around to it and that's the only thing that really makes sense at this point. Anything else would be mismanagement.

I see no reason why GGG isn't just declared the Lineal Middleweight Champ by the people at this point. It's really not even a debate in my mind. Props to Cotto for his win over Sergio but his belt was acquired through a unique opportunity and all the others are held by second tier protected fighters. Does anyone really think he'll beat GGG or should even fight him in the first place?
