Rubio probably figured that the Cotto match wasn't going to happen and that GGG was the best offer he was going to get.

My question is will Rubio keep his mandatory status after he loses to GGG. He's been holding on to it forever.
When Sergio fought GGG's mandatory (Murray), Murray kept his mandatory challenger status after losing.
