As for me I simply never liked him, and the unwarranted hype surrounding him made things even worse. He fought 4 absolute nobodies in 2012 and they give him FOTY over Marquez? I can't even name the guys he fought because they were so irrelevant at the time and still are. I think Mathebula was one, some Kenyan who nearly outboxed Donaire with his jab alone and only lost his momentum because he got hurt. Donaire has only one dimension to his game, and it's the left hook but when he can't use it he's absolutely useless. And no, he's not a HOF'er just yet. You don't get there beating the guys that he's beaten.

I was never a fan of his and loved seein him get schooled by Rigo. He was butt hurt after he fight talking about all Rigo didn't was run and that he felt he maybe won the fight. That brought on more hate. I just laughed it off cuz he just sounded like he was still in denial. Lol
