Are 'great' undercards that important?

Again, I do like at least one great undercard fight..
Preferably a title fight or a fight between solid contenders in the same division; prospects with potential.

I'll take quality over quantity. 1 solid undercard fight in the 10:00pm-10:30pm time slot... and I'm good.

3 or 4 average or mediocre fights isn't appealing to me.

Don't have to be 3 mega-fights. Just give me a few quality fights. Not too much to ask for. Throw an exciting Keith "One Time" Thurman on there. Give me some higjlights. Don't load the card with pure boxers so we can completely ignore the card until the main event!

I'm also trying to entertain some casuals sometimes, and they would appreciate a little familiarity with boxers they know, and mainly, a little ACTION!

Arum says they don't matter. And sadly he's probably right. Casuals are the ones buying the ppvs. Look at all the hardcore fans on this site who complained about salka. But 800k still watched

Could be the difference between a PPV buy or a illegal stream. Or even waiting for it here on the trading block. That's why Pac's numbers have sort of fell off. Even if your not fighting an amazing opponent a strong undercard will sway indecisive customers.
They should put Rios-Provo***ov on Pacquiao-Algieri undercard (but they won't).

I love it, there is no reason not to have all great fights. This weeks card is fantastic with Wilder, figueora, bika, dirrell, brook, and Porter

For me it depends on the main event.

              So did/does it matter:
              Floyd/Maidana II - No
              Pac/Algeri - Yes
              Floyd/Maidana I - Yes
              Sergio/Cotto - No
              Pac/Rios - Yes
              Floyd/Canelo - No
              Canelo/Lara - No
              Canelo/Angulo - Yes

Hell i would even pay for BHop/Kov.

End of the day i want more **** for my buck but if a main event intrigues me then i dont care who else on as long as they are of higher quality

What would you do if you went to a restaurant and they gave you stale appetisers? People shouldn't even entertain the idea of putting up with a crap undercard; it's like boxing fans are so whipped they just accept the **** they're spoon fed.
