Soliman-Taylor to be on ESPN2 (possibly)

this fight shouldn't happen. taylor should retire.
that said, at least he's not in with a puncher. he also may very well lose the fight.
i hope he loses the world's most boring UD, and retires.
soliman can land one punch a round, to make sure he wins them.Comment

ESPN fights generally split 10 grand for the main event, according to managers i knew a few years ago who regularly had fighters on the cards. that doesn't incldue gate, sponsorhsip, etc. that's just what ESPN pays to broadcast the fight.
they do increase their budget for certain fights, and this will probably be one of them. i don't think they'll pay soliman 50K, doe. he'll have to generate money in other ways.Comment

ESPN paid what, $300k-$500k for the HW fight with Stievern. ESPN has the budget to throw a mill for a fight card if they believe it'll draw numbers. I imagine they paid similar money for this card. Taylor & Soliman are probably walking away with $100-200k apiece. Far less than the $600-800k Soliman would've received from GGG in October.
Now if Soliman manages to win, he'll have a high profile win on US tv which will command him even more money against Golovkin. Haymon may still have an agenda here though, but Taylor could just retire after winning the belt aswell. But it wouldn't be difficult for Haymon to arrange a unification bout with Quillin vs Stevens/N'Dam.Comment

that's for the FNF cards they do-not when they pick up a fight and put it on ESPN. I would think they would make more than that.ESPN fights generally split 10 grand for the main event, according to managers i knew a few years ago who regularly had fighters on the cards. that doesn't incldue gate, sponsorhsip, etc. that's just what ESPN pays to broadcast the fight.

I highly doubt ESPN is paying more then 50k for this card. Who the **** is Soliman and Taylor has long since been irrelevant. He would surely take a small pay day for a title shotComment

Ok so let's say Soliman is getting 150 k to fight Taylor, which I don't believe for a second but hypothetically though. We're talking about ESPN money only.ESPN paid what, $300k-$500k for the HW fight with Stievern. ESPN has the budget to throw a mill for a fight card if they believe it'll draw numbers. Who is the idiot manager that manages him? I mean you're a light puncher, you're going in against a big, long middleweight with a nice jab who gets beat only with power and you ain't got no power. You're also fighting in the US and guess what, Al Haymon is managing Taylor.
I can actually see the fight going the distance and Taylor getting the decision.
Then we'll have Taylor, Jacobs and Quillin holding belts hostages.
I guess these day, middleweights are so afraid of GGG, they rather fight for 600% less money than fight him, that and taking a risk to get robbed vs an Al Haymon fighter.
Soliman is not fighting GGG, ever!Comment
hope it doesn't happen. Poor GGG would have no sleep being in such an unfavorable position.
