Any truth to the rumor that Peter Quillin is heading to Puerto Rico to make sure the price is right?

I think Golden Boy is gonna win this purse bid, Quillin (I mean his WBO belt) is too important for them. Top Rank matched Korobov very carefully so far, but he will be on his own this time, like Lomachenko was.

Quillin on the other hand seems to be heading downwards after two lackluster performances in a row.
Agree. Not sure if we ever will.... but this is his chance right here. Quillin is a very winnable fight for him. IMO

Jacobs-Quillin next would be cool if Quillin wins.

I suspect that Top Rank will win this bid, I mean I don't think Quillin is signed with Golden Boy Promotions and Al Haymon doesn't have a promotional company, so who would fill-in on the bidding? Dan Goossen? I suspect Top Rank wins this one and Al allows Quillin to get the free HBO exposure.

Quillin is doing it for the kids doe. Let him do it for the kids. He wants Golovkin doe. But for the kids, he has to take different path. Be a good role model.

Interesting purse bid situtation. Quillin's supposedly in the final fight of his GB deal. Top Rank could see a potential huge pay day with Golovkin should Korobov win and I'm sure TR won't forget Lomachenko only won his fight over Russell by MD...

I'm still slightly favoring Korobov based on how he looked with Derek Edwards (Uzecategui was an awkward fighter), and how Peter looked against Rosado, N'Dam, and Konecny. Equal power and equal chin, Quillin has the hand speed, where Korobov has the footwork and accuracy.

Pete's manager said that?! That's good news, I thought they'd be looking to delay this fight using a Jacobs unification. So much for the idea of Quillin/GB cashing out with a higher paying Golovkin unification...

I wonder if Huyronov will hijack the purse bid and use it as leverage to force Jacobs to fight his mandatory in Dmitry Chudinov sooner rather than later. It would make a cool Barclay's double hearder with Quillin-Korobov & Jacobs-Chudinov. Right now, I think Chudinov takes Jacobs, but if Jacobs is allowed to continue to progress with his opposition in another year I'd take him over the tough yet crude Chudinov.

GBP also has a bad track record post schaeffer. Lost to a Thai promoter and who ever promotes Stuart Hall... or Paul Butler... whoever last held the title.

Quillin's best success will be if he pushes Korobov, but Korobov enjoys counter punching sometimes and he does have some odd angles at times.

I have it 50/50.... Korobov has a decent chance if he doesn't lay off too long

Well what do you expect? Golovkin is not in the title picture at 160 anymore, nor does he make sense
