You might want to assume that Haymon will say no, but you know what happens when you assume. Right now, and for the past six months, I have never heard Khan talk about Thurman. I hear the same names; Alexander and Guererro. I hear talks of Porter fighting Thurman, and Porter fighting Marquez, which are bigger fights, not to mention Porter fighting Brook (who Khan doesn't want to fight). So if Mayweather chooses Porter, it will be no one's fault but Khan!

Khan is gotta get a fight date and an opponent now and Porter isn't gonna be in the mood to pull the trigger on a deal for a November/December fight like the day after he fights on Saturday.

Haymon would never put him in with Thurman. That fight makes no sense unless you are hoping and praying for Khan to get KOd again.

No manager is going to put a marketable fighter with a history of a shaky chin in with a huge power puncher with NO résumé (especially if he also manages the other guy).

Best case, your guy might win and get no credit. Worst case, he gets iced.

Moreover, getting past Thurman proves nothing about Khan's viability as a potential opponent for Floyd. Floyd isn't much of a threat to knock out Khan so it's not like Khan has to face a big puncher to prove he'll be able to "take it" when he gets in with Floyd.

khan does more talking than fighting. He could have fought alexander last December. He could have fought guerrero on the mayweather/maidana card in may. he instead chose too fight collazo. khan should be focused solely on the winner of brook/porter. this way if he wins the IBF title. he could come too the table with a title and a fight with Floyd would be for all the original belts. WBC/IBF/WBA.

If Khan beat Alexander now, it won't be as meaningful because Porter already beat him. If Porter wins impressively this Saturday, then I believe he deserves to be next for Mayweather. Khan needs to beat Thurman to make a statement that he's a top 147. Thurman does not have a fight scheduled yet, so he should be the target for Khan. Khan should realize that he's in a competition for Mayweather, and right now Porter is winning. The only way to stay close is beating Thurman.
