LMAO, how many hardcore fans have a neilsen box. Ratings are a joke anyways, and everyone in the industry knows it.

What people tend to forget is that the casual fans don't know the difference between a Herrera and Salka. The negative feedback found on forums is minority criticism.

I didn't catch that at first. Jacobs/Fletcher was the most competitive match-up on paper and it received the fewest viewers. Hopefully Jacobs gets a tougher opponent next time. The fact that more people tuned in for the main event shows that fans will complain but still tune in. Fans can be convinced into watching just about anything, and it's been happening all year. Garcia/Peterson should happen ASAP so we can forget this card ever happened.

Where have you been? since Tyson v Mcneely its been painfully obvious that more often than not fans tune in to see the guy they like fight as opposed to great fights.

Hope it does lead to danny v Petersen or danny v Herrera 2.

Wouldn't the fact kov v caparello did more than 940k be more indicative that we are getting more mismatches? or are showtime mismatches the only ones bad for the sport?

radioraheem in another thread made a great point about casual fans not knowing the difference between opponents with little name value (i.e. Salka and Herrera are the same to the casual viewer). Garcia is the attraction, like Tyson was, and that's why people are watching. I guess this means that GBP/Haymon's brand-building process is working if DG can do solid #'s against a no-namer/no-hoper. He has headlined 6 cards (vs Khan, Morales x2, Zab, Herrera, Salka) and was on PPV vs. Matts. I can see them making Garcia/Khan 2 or Garcia/Paulie soon.
