  • I don't see why these numbers are hard to explain. Being a Puerto Rican or Mexican boxer comes with it's advantages, u have a whole different community of ppl from which to draw from and will tune in to support their man. If Danny Garcia heritage did not trace back to one of these big boxing places I guarantee the numbers would not be as good.

        • hey you guys know that only a few thousand people in the entire country have nielsen boxes right??

"The two largest Local People Meter markets, New York and Los Angeles, will have their sample sizes increased by 300 homes next year, to about 1,300 apiece."

"In the 31 Set Meter markets ***8212; those in which TVs are hooked up to a gizmo that allows the study of viewing habits on a minute-to-minute basis ***8212; Nielsen over the next two years will expand the sample by 200 homes in each market, or to more than 6,200 homes ***8212; an increase of almost 50 percent."

          • All this illustrates is that Danny Garcia sells. He's a popular fighter. Nothing more nothing less.

I mean more people watched all these fights than watched wlad on espn. dannny v salka did better than the HWT champion of the world on a network in 10 times as many homes.

                Unbelievable.
It's easy to see why more tuned in to see the Garcia vs Salka card than to see Klitschko vs Leapai. Neither of the premium channels wanted the rights to Klitschko vs Leapai after the horrible grab and hold show he put on against Povetkin. I mean come on, the HW champion of the world held so much that he got penalized a point?! Talk about disgraceful! Turns out HBO and Showtime were wise to pass on the Leapai fight, despite it being a title match. With Klitschko, you can either count on him facing a shorter bum, whom he destroys, or grabbing and holding someone who can hurt him. There's never just a good competitive fight with him. Even with mismatches, every other division in boxing is worth more of its salt than the circus that the Klitschkos have made of the HW division.

                • Honestly, I'm not shocked at all. Stephen Espinoza + Haymon really need to up their game.

There is no way a fight of this level should out perform the HWT champion, especially when he is this close to the record for title defenses.

Don't feel bad.. GGG still did bad numbers.. and remember HBO has more subscribers than Showtime.. so its not a balanced equation.
