saturdays card was pretty good, the main event was **** but the two fights before that were decent matchups and even the main event featured a world class fighter even if it was kind of an exhibition fight.
nobody said **** when kovalev fought capparello, a guy whos best win is allan green. a lot of hypocrisy on this site.
edit: one of the main reasons boxing fell off is the lack of talent in the HW division, a direct result of potential fighters turning to other sports like basketball and american football. while its less obvious in other divisions it shows there as well. it makes sense, more money, less risk and you can get an education out of it.
so if a guy like haymon and others like him can increase the amount of money fighters are making that will attract more athletes back to this great sport. something that will do boxing good.
not to mention the fact that as a fan of the sport who has seen two of his idols (ali and mcclellan) suffer serious brain damage in the ring im simply happy fighters are getting what they deserve as far as financial compensation. if haymon was around in the 90's perhaps mcclellan wouldnt be broke in addition to being blind, 90% deaf and unable to walk.
lay off dunn, you are the ones who are wrong. more money for the fighters is a good thing. naturally we all want to see great fights too, but nobody said they didnt. you clowns just pretend people do because you have no arguments to support your jealousy based anger over fighters getting the money they deserve.
