Ironic coming from a guy who's literally been feasting on bums his entire career.

Starting to feel bad for Wilder, his record says nothing. The man has not been past 4, boxing is a brutal sport, the man has not even been hurt yet - his handlers and matchmakers have done him a disservice. He has no former world champions on his record, no sherman yank williams, no dominic guinns, and nagy agulara's, no one that could give him a different look, and when he fought Manswell I think thats his name, he got frustrated and nervous in that one, I see him doing a calvin brock in a couple of more fights as his comp level raises. Once he realizes that he really is not that good, KO's can be exciting and detrimental to ones career - Deontay's quest for the truth will be rough because now he has to step it up and perform - imagine his big arse in the 9th with no experience against someone who strategically carried him there to drown him - it happensComment

Damn I wish Briggs would just go away. Anyways finally he talks about someone besides klitschko. As much as I think Van Wilder still has a lot to prove he would dust up Briggs. Geez the juice is flowing good in Briggs. F'ing roidhead.
Briggs is too funny telling Wilder he has been fighting bums. Is Briggs blind to the opponents he has been facing during this pseudo comeback? Briggs' opponents are so terrible that if Wilders opponents fought Briggs' opponents, Wilders' opponents would get critized for fighting bums.Comment

Exactly! The way I see it is his management only wants to cash out on him. Why else would they not put him in with guys with solid chins to give him rounds. Even the keep busy fight is against a guy who has been knocked out 7 times!!! At least they could have scouted for a no hoper with a solid chin who could get him at least 6-7 rounds. That tells me right there his team has NO faith in his stamina or his legs to go rounds. You do not build a fighter up to the title picture without having completed 4 rounds, that is unheard of. They know his vulnerabilities and are covering them up by fighting guys who have been stopped before, some of them, many times. Every puncher faces guys he can hit with his best shot and nothing happens. History is littered with examples. Those are the guys they should have put in front of Wilder to build his stamina. Stamina is not a talent, it takes years to build up.Starting to feel bad for Wilder, his record says nothing. Something is seriously wrong with the plan from team Wilder. They know his flaws and want to cash out. Even if he gets past Stiverne, not having gone 4 rounds will come back to haunt Wilder big time. His team has a short-term plan in mind and anyone with common sense knows about the deep waters and being drowned. I know this, you know this, some fans are oblivious to this and are wined, dined, and seduced by his KO record. His team knows what happens when stamina is not built up over time, they have to know! They want to avoid the deep waters till it is time to give up the ghost. It is a plan doomed to failure. Wilder cannot possibly have the stamina to maintain his whirlwind style in the 7th, 8th, and 9th rounds and that is when the wheels will start falling off and things will go south at a rapid rate when the tank is empty.
Don't anyone on this board kid themselves into thinking that a guy who has not gone 4 rounds is going to stay at a brisk pace against the best in the division in the late rounds. History is a harsh reminder that there is no short cut in boxing.Last edited by richardt; 08-12-2014, 11:20 AM.Comment
