Comments Thread For: Angel Garcia: Felt Bad For Salka, Towel Was Needed

Angel Garcia, father and trainer of WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia, said he felt after Rod Salka got flattened in the second round last Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Salka was overmatched, getting dropped early in the second and then pummeled with punches. He went down on his own a second time. At that point, when Salka took a knee to escape the punishment, Angel believes the corner should have thrown the towel in. That didn't happen. Salka got up and had no choice but to stand his ground, and that's when he was knocked cold on his back from a huge hook.

Why do you feel bad? You couldn't see why people were talking down about him in the first place

Honestly the fight Should have been stopped after the first KO, the ref counted to 10 and still let him up it was the same with the second KO it is what it is but that third KO was so sick.

Props to Salka for taking the fight

That was a negligent corner and ref, if you ask me.

And Salka, if he must continue boxing, needs to reassess his training methods.

          .

Should've been waved off after the second KD. Awful ref.

Haymon is an advisor and Espinoza is with thw network - the real culprit is Eric Gomez - not sure if you have noticed the recent interviews with him flanking Danny Garcia and even answering questions for him regarding the fight - the matchmaker , Haymon is not legally a promoter he is more of a manager / advisor

What ever Espinoza-Haymon "Advised" his fighter to do, almost got Salka seriously injured.

Lol, the size difference was huge, and Salka has had no experience at that level, no even in his weightclass.

Some cow@rd ***** right there. At least Garcia got a confidence boost right?
after getting smacked around by someone in his weightclass for 12 rounds.
