Former three division champion Adrien Broner (28-1, 22KOs) is still looking to avenge his first career defeat, which came at the hands of Marcos Maidana last December in Texas. Broner was knocked down twice and lost his WBA title on the losing end of a twelve round unanimous decision.
Broner had exercised a rematch clause, but then Floyd Mayweather Jr. snatched away Maidana for a May pay-per-view event. Mayweather won a tough majority decision and a rematch is scheduled for September 13th. Broner returns one week earlier, on September 6th, when he faces Emmanuel Taylor.
