Comments Thread For: Sadam Ali: Fasting For Ramadan Affected Me in Training

Welterweight prospect Sadam Ali knows that he didn’t perform too well for his split decision win over Jeremy Bryan this past Saturday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Ali, a 25-year-old from Brooklyn, rated himself at 6.5. He said part of the difficulty was because of Bryan and part of it was being affected by fasting for the month-long ****** holiday of Ramadan, which went from late June until late July. [Click Here To Read More]

Fasting and boxing training just doesn't make sense. Truly draining yourself.

      Fasting more important then boxing.

Just remember not to fast during or 2 months after Ramadan.

Rough night for Ali. Fasting during training would do that to you.

Reminds me of Cotto asking for 159 weight limit.

I fast every year, I agree it takes away a huge amount of your energy, levels of concentration and also strength.

I don't agree with his excuse though, you're a fighter you could have chose to move the fight forward a month.

Hes an idiot for fight so close after ramadan. Fasting is very difficult. Im from the uk and I was fasting the first few days you would start your fast at 3 am and break it @ 9.30 pm. Its very difficult when your working too. So imagine training.
