he was in 2 close fights with taylor AND Tarver is a big step up. I know tarver is rated at the bottom of the top 10 but to move frmo 160 straight to 175 is a huge accomplishment and would show what kind of fighter hopkins is -
taylor won both fightsOriginally posted by King Jaffe JofferWell since he was robbed twice by Taylor(we all know this and thats why *** Intentions isnt even in the top ten lol) then moving up to fight Tarver and if he wins, he should be top 5 because he used to be number 1.Comment

Based on Nard's performance, I'd say he was Top 5.Originally posted by pigguYesterday on Friday Night Fights, Bernard Hopkins said some things about his upcoming fight with Antonio Tarver. But the thing that struck me the most was when Bernard said that a win over Tarver should put him back in the Ring magazine top 5 P4P rankings. I found that interesting because Tarver is ranked at number 9, so how would a victory over him put Bernard in the top 5? On the other hand, it is a major achievement to jump two divisions in one fight and become Light-Heavyweight champ. But Tarver only won the title from an old Roy Jones.
What do you guys think? Would Bernard's past accomplishments combined with the LHW title put him back in the top 5?
p4p ranking is not an exact science. 1+1 doesn't always = 2Comment

Bhops no longer belongs to the p4p listings, he now belongs to the hall of fame. He's retiring remember?
