How about Daniel Jacobs vs David Lemieux? Both are climbing the middleweight ladder. Winner can get GGG.

Nice to see Jacobs actually taking on a fairly live opponent at last. I can understand he's wanted to take things slowly following the double whammy of the Pirog loss and then his (I'm sure) far more traumatic battle with cancer, but the time has come for him to get in the mix.

It's hard to gauge how good he is given the level of his opposition post Pirog, but Fletcher is a decent win. I'm not sure Jacobs beats Quillin, but I think it's fairly likely - for me he's the more skilled of the two, though I've not really seen him in with as tricky a fighter as, say, NDNJ.

Still... it's a good fight - let's see what happens when (if) Kid C defends against Mattvey Korobov. I'm far from sure Quillin passes that test, but if he does, Quillin - Jacobs has the makings of a real big fight in Brooklyn, as would either of the pair against Stevens.

This would be a good fight to make, and IMO a good fight in the ring.

Too bad the price isn't right doe.

I think Daniel Jacobs is good style match up for Peter Quillen. While Quillen is the natural larger and stronger puncher of the two. However, he is also the slower and more static of the two fighters as well. However on the other hand, Jacobs is the natural faster, quicker and flexible of the two boxers.

I can easily see Jacobs winning this fight by out boxing, out hustling and by avoiding the exchanges between the two. Moreover, I could even see Danny possibly stopping Quillen with his superior mobility and hand speed.

Jacobs just got a belt? The Aussie he fought was not a smart fighter at all. When he was giving jacobs trouble he was using his jab. Once he stopped using it jacobs just took advantage. Kid choco would work this dude. This was not an easy fight for jacobs, well the first round was. If the Aussie was a more intelligent fighter he could have made it more difficult for jacobs. Jacobs was definitely the better fighter. I dont think his reg wba title really means anything. GGG needs to clear out middle weight. He will once the other title holders agree to fight him.

I think Danny gets stopped. One of his biggest problems in my view is his durability and physical strength (dates back to his amateur days), and he was in last night with an unimposing, chinny non-puncher who was tailor-made for him and brought in so he could win a belt. Against opponents with strength or power, or both, Jacobs has looked like the weaker man and quite vulnerable at times, and while Quillin is limited he is fairly strong and has heavy hands. I can see Jacobs outspeeding him in spots, but I also think that the latter will feel his power, fight cautiously, and get hurt eventually. Despite Jacobs' high KO ratio I also don't think he's a particularly hard-puncher, as he generally hasn't shown that type of power when he's stepped up and obviously Fletcher has a history of serious chin problems.

Nearly thirty fights and a title, and Jacobs' best win is probably over Jarrod Fletcher. I see people talking of him finally beating a live opponent, but I don't think Fletcher fits that description. Watch his two round blowout loss to average punching Saunders and tell me that Fletcher is a live opponent at this level, especially against fighters with some power.

Jacobs seems like a good dude and his story is great, but he won a bogus title against a soft opponent and still has a lot to prove.
