I'm not convinced JMM can beat a solid 147 welterweight contender besides PAC. He just knows PAC's style very well.

Against Alvarado, it wasn't a true 147lb clash. It was at a catchweight 143 lbs.

JMM loss to Floyd and Bradley at 147.
    Beat Alvarado at 143.
    Beat Pac.

Actually, their KO percentages were very comparable before PAC started to fight at 147. PAC doesn't have the KO power he had at lower weights.

From 2009 and on PAC has faced more bigger guys at 147 in total. And these guys like Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, Rios, had iron chins.

Marquez is definitly a legend and an ATF (all time favorite) but no great.. Porter is too big and young for Juan to beat at this stage in his career..Come to think of it, who did Juan really beat besides Manny anyway??

Brook would stylistically be ideal for Marquez, Porter has a sweet left hook which has been the punch that's dropped Marquez the most over the course of his career. Porter would be a problem, Brook in my estimation would be the easier fight since his best punch is a punch Marquez has always handled well defensively.

He could beat Brook(if he wins) then unify 147 with another Pacquiao fight. That would be a big G fight.

Sorry, but I have to agree with the guy that you are replying to. Juan will simply get ate up alive if he faces Porter. You will be witnessing a real live mugging on TV if that fight should happen. This is not the kind of fight that an aging 40 yr old should be taking (and JMM is no Hopkins!).

He could make some easy millions by fighting less dangerous opponents and call it a career.
