Sure he had cancer, but since turning pro 7 years ago what is his best win? The competitive decision in which he was hurt twice by a blown-up Ishe Smith who was on a losing streak? The stoppage of Giovanni Lorenzo? He record is filled with mediocre opponents and he also made Smith seem like a puncher and Pirog seem like a murderous puncher.

For a guy who is getting another title shot (against someone who was destroyed by Billy Joe Saunders) and regularly talked about as a top MW, he's done awfully little.

This is an okay bout if you put aside the bogus title though.

What has he done..............let's see..........he beat an insane amount of radiation from BONE CANCER..........not enough??

Can you or can you not see with your own eyes that he's the goods? He's good decent power in both hands, it was made clear it was for the lesser WBA title, but let's see what he does with Quillen.....then we'll have a better idea.

Tyson had fought essentially nobody until Berbick in his 27th fight and even that was questionable...........

27-0, 24 KO's no matter what is a good start. He took almost two years off for the minor fight with bone cancer...I think that most fights don't seem like much in coparison......

He has said GGG would be too much at this point, the guy is class, he is ready for a step up and Quillen makes a good fight.............and he'll acquit himself well in it.

He won 3 of 4 rounds vs Pirog before he got caught. If Geale or anyone had went 5 before losing to GGG, it would be an accomplishment......no, Pirog is no GGG, but he was a helluva puncher and a solid fighter.

I didn't see this fight or any of the fights last night but I'm glad that Danny Jacobs won. He has conquered a lot in his life. He might not be a legit boxing champion but he is a legit champion in all of our hearts .

Great post. Jacobs is already a champion for having survived cancer, anything else is just icing on the cake.
