Can you or can you not see with your own eyes that he's the goods? He's good decent power in both hands, it was made clear it was for the lesser WBA title, but let's see what he does with Quillen.....then we'll have a better idea.

Tyson had fought essentially nobody until Berbick in his 27th fight and even that was questionable...........

27-0, 24 KO's no matter what is a good start. He took almost two years off for the minor fight with bone cancer...I think that most fights don't seem like much in coparison......

He has said GGG would be too much at this point, the guy is class, he is ready for a step up and Quillen makes a good fight.............and he'll acquit himself well in it.

He won 3 of 4 rounds vs Pirog before he got caught. If Geale or anyone had went 5 before losing to GGG, it would be an accomplishment......no, Pirog is no GGG, but he was a helluva puncher and a solid fighter.
Great post. Jacobs is already a champion for having survived cancer, anything else is just icing on the cake.

I didn't see this fight or any of the fights last night but I'm glad that Danny Jacobs won. He has conquered a lot in his life. He might not be a legit boxing champion but he is a legit champion in all of our hearts .

For a guy who is getting another title shot (against someone who was destroyed by Billy Joe Saunders) and regularly talked about as a top MW, he's done awfully little.

This is an okay bout if you put aside the bogus title though.

I just hope Showtime explain to the casual at home that its not a real World title, GGG is the WBA Champ. HBO would do this as they did it with the Vargas fight last week.

Much respect to Jacobs and i hope he gets to fight for a legit title at some point if he keeps on winning. Inspirational dude for sure.

    What an unbelievable douche bag

I think Jacobs would handle Quillen quite well. I would bet on him. In fact about the only person I would pick to beat Jacobs right now without a lot of thought is GGG. Everyone else he'd give them a helluva fight. Including Cotto and Canelo.....

And Pirog was no bum either. Just because he wasn't well known here, most considered him #2 behind Sergio until his injury issues.

No shame in losing to a guy like that.......pinhead

Daniel Jacobs should have the respect and admiration of everyone, not just boxing fans. Great story. I hope he wins and goes on to earn a world title.

His is the best fight today by a long shot, too. Don't **** on him because you're angry about Garcia/Salka.

Didn't you read the article? His grandmother died a week before that bout.

Personally I think it's inspirational how far he has come after everything he's had to go through.
