Not a myth. Sergio was already upfront about not sparring because that's how he injured himself for the Mauray fight. Sergio also revealed it during the pre fight meetings with Jim lampley and the rest, and the debate was not whether or not he sparred because it was known that he hadn't sparred during training camp. The debate was about whether or not he sparred with Trout who he brought it in towards the end of his camp. 2 rumors, one was Trout was there for the only sparring of Sergio's camp, the second rumor which many excepted as the more likely of the 2 was Trout was there to give Sergio tips on Cotto having defeated him recently. You can hear the commentators discussing this very issue at the beginning of the fight, I believe it was during Martinez's walk.

They keep saying it's not the knees but he was flopping all over the ring and he is getting the knees examined. Come on Sergio, just call it a day and be a commentator or politician, there is no need to go through the motions.

He cannot get any rest because all the mouth running he was doing before the fight. Peple need to stop trying to give excuses and just know Cotto was a better fighter than him. Is alaways nice to see a boxer get their ass kick for talking to much. Sergio can't come to terms with himself that after all the lame ass crying and talking mess he got what he deserve. Now im ready for cotto to face anybody next.

Maybe you should call Cotto up and tell him GGG is waiting at his front door with a contract because your boy seems to think he is the JMW champ of the world instead of the MW champ.

See what many of you guys dont understand based on all u guys wanting Cotto to fight GGG who im also a fan of, Cotto never intended to stay in that Division he wanted to make history...by becoming the first PR to win 4 world titles in 4 different Division. Which he did by checking your boy Martinez. So i just dont see the point in facing GGG. Dont get me wrong it would be a good fight but GGG is in no position to try to run anything.

This tells me Sergio is 100% done. His confidence and swag is part of what made him so good. He is already slowing down physically without the confidence he is in serious trouble.

So wait, you're trying to justify Cotto ducking GGG, smh...first you say you're ready too see him "fight anybody next" and now you say that GGG is in "no position"....he's the REAL AND LEGIT MW CHAMPION OF THE WORLD despite oh-but-Cotto-made-history ...him & Freddie made a smart move and that's it...it was evident during the fight and anyone with minimal knowledge of the sport saw exactly that...don't get me wrong, I like Cotto the fighter, but why the catchweight bs to defend a MW title in a division where, according to YOU, he had no intention of staying to begin with?

Cotto needs to show some INTEGRITY and vacate the MW belt since he apparently has no real intentions of defending....

The best thing for Sergio is to leave with his health and wealth in tact. We don't need anymore Meldric Taylor's.

This is a brutal sport, retire from boxing and don't let boxing retire you.
