I think it is mostly because of his Dad, some fans hold a grudge for him mocking Erik Morales I think. The hate actually started during the build up of the first Morales fight.

Garcia is always picked to lose and never given any credit after he wins..The man is the constant underdog who always comes out on top....Why people hate him so much is beyond me,he is polite,down to earth and comes to fight in the ring..It is not just his upcoming fight, he has been dogged out since he hit the main stage...from the Morales fights to the Khan fight and especially the Mattysee fight...why is this man so hated?

Morales was old both times and done. ( even though he just beat Cano and went 12 entertaining and even rounds with Maidona)

Khan is chinny. ( even though Khan beat Molina,Paulie, Maidona, etc)

Garcia won't fight Matthyse .( Even before the haters could finish the sentence, he signs to fight and wins)

Most loved the Herrera thing...because most didnt talk crap about Garcia before-hand and Herrera did really well, so they let loose afterwards and are still talking.

the biggest reason is that he beat lucas matthysse, a very loved fighter at one time. the love for matthysse has faded in the advent of his decline, but the hatred for garcia remains .


on top of that there's the herrera fight. lots of people thought he lost.

finally, there's ron salsa. no explaination is really needed when the 140 lb champion of the world is fighting the 77th ranked 135 lber. it's on showtime, and a main event to boot.

i'm pissed at GBP, showtime [perhaps most of all.] i'm also pissed with danny. his recent comments show very little concern for boxing fans.
