I think Kovalev will KO Hopkins but even at age 50 Hopkins is still one of the best fighters in the world and has a chance to win. Until there is some sort of proof Hopkins is on something illegal I don't think he is using anything illegal. Hopkins takes good care of his body and still has a strong desire to train hard and fight well and that's not cheating.

Kovalev is a step up on Hopkins recent opposition, but Hopkins is an even bigger step up for Kovalev.

That was in 2011, at Hopkins' age that's a lot longer. That was the last time Hopkins really really impressed me, not that he's failed to but I doubt he'll ever look that good again.

Kovalev will end him, it's almost a night and day difference from Cloud, Murat, Shumenov to Kovalev.

When you realize that he lost to Jermain Taylor twice, you have to wonder if the light heavyweight division was relatively weak.

It's not so much that, it's the fact that he was suppose to have moved up long before taking on Taylor. It was starting to take a toll on his body which explains why his stamina improved substantially against Tarver.

I personally think Hopkins purposely fought in a slug fest against Murat for entertainment purposes, plus he knew Murat couldn't hurt him.

If he fights that same way against Kovalev, he's a fool, so I doubt he takes that same approach against Sergey.

Gotta strongly disagree, I saw Hopkins roll punches like he usually does but fail miserably at times.

Kovalev is fucking him up, I get it though, Kovalev does have weaknesses like standing too straight up when he has his opponents pinned against the ropes. Hopkins isn't exactly hurting guys to take advantage of that. My thing is this, it's not so much the defensive holes in Kovalev, it's the fact that I no longer think Hopkins possesses the physical strength to tie up/ control Kovalev in the clinches to neutralize Kovalev's workrate. I don't think he's quick enough on his feet to get to Kovalev and smother him either.

I think he's just a very skilled boxer who has lived his life as a real athlete and developed a style to counter the effects of age.

I suspect that Kovalev will finish him as a top level fighter but it's frightening how long he could go on for if he fought at the sort of level Roy Jones does now.

Reason why some boxers are boxing at an older age is because of their discipline and they don't fight as often.

Hopkins is a great opportunist, that is another thing that has helped him.
